ANNOUNCEMENT [To Round Oak Dealers On Company Letterhead, January 2, 1942]
Description:
This ANNOUNCEMENT, on Round Oak Company letterhead "TO ROUND OAK DEALERS - Please Read Carefully," tells how the company is working in production with the Government Defense Program but will continue to manufacture Round Oak products "as far as possible in 1942." Signed by "Round Oak Company," this asks dealers to anticipate needs and explains that the company has discontinued some units, "In order to conserve the use of iron and steel, at the request of the Government." Also, "Government Limitation order issued on December 15, 1941 cuts the production of cooking ranges from 30% to 42% for 1942 with a possibility of further restriction to conserve iron and steel for defense." At the left top is the Doe-Wah-Jack logo in red, black and white inset above a black-and-white drawing of the Round Oak Company plant, "Since 1871."
