The wraparound cover of this pamphlet has a color drawing of a girl sleeping under a large tree with two elves holding yellow and black boxes of Hires Root Beer and a third box in the foreground. Seven elves are in the background gathering sticks into a basket. The back cover is a continuation of the front with four elves tending a large cooking pot while two elves and an owl watch another elf reading a book. The front end page is orange and white with a promotion for the benefits of Hires Root Beer. The back end page is orange and white with drawing of The Charles E. Hires Co. building on Arch Street in Philadelphia. The first five pages are a poem, "Little Mabel," a story with black-and-white illustrations about a maiden and how fairies created Hires' Root Beer for her. The next eight pages has "As Others See Us," an article reprinted from The Daily News (Phila.), Feb. 14, 1891. Accompanied by black-and-white illustrations, it provides the company's history, sales figures and expenditures and a description of the headquarters.
