The front cover fades from black to orange. There is a beige rectangle in the center. On the front cover, it looks like it is a recipe card with: From the Kitchen of: The Michigan Bean Commission; Ingredients: Five or Less!; and Directions: For crock-pots, microwaves and conventional ovens!. There are line drawings of vegetables, pitcher of milk, sack of bean, scoop, and a jar near the bottom. The back cover has the same color format with the exception of the rectangle having the Commission's address at the bottom in black lettering. The inside pages have the same color format. There are two pages of coupons. The front end page has Bean Tips and the back end page has ads for other Commission cookbooks. There are recipes for salads, sandwiches, soups, and main dishes. There is a page on nutritional information. There are line drawings throughout of various vegetables.
