The front cover and all the pages but the last one are 21.6 x 11.7 cm. The last page and back cover are 21.6 x 14.0 cm. The front cover is ivory with green, yellow, red lettering. There are a red and orange diamonds behind Black Bean; Recipes is in block letters on a green rectangle; and there are small red and orange squares scattered over the cover. The part of the back cover that is wider has a green, yellow, and red deco banner lengthwise. The back cover has the Commission's address at the bottom in red and green lettering. The sections of the pamphlet are: All About; Soups; Miscellaneous; and Quantity Recipes. The headers are in a yellow or orange rectangle and the title of the recipes are in a red and orange diamonds. There are no page numbers.
