This book has a leather-like dark blue cover with the title and author's name on the front in gold gilt lettering. Below the title is a color photograph with white border of a box of Upjohn's Friable Pills: Reduced To A Powder Under The Thumb, with gold gilt vertical lines on either side of the photograph. There is a horizontal gold gilt line across the top of the back cover. The front and back end pages have the various Upjohn logos diagonally across the pages. A card insert states that the book was "published in honor of our Centennial, Upjohn 1886-1986." There is a Foreword by R.T. Parfet, Jr., Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Upjohn, and a Preface by the author. There are eight chapters: A New Day, A New Century, The Founder's Footprints, Aftermath And Transition, Journey Into Prominence, Citizen Of The World, The Tradition Of A Concerned Employer, March Toward A New Century, and The Voices Of Upjohn. There is an index in the back. Photographs have captions in English, Spanish, French and Chinese.
