Description:

The front cover has a color drawing of a lemon pie with a slice on a blue dish. Seven red carnation are in the upper left corner beside the title in blue letters outlined in black and the author's name in black script. The back cover has promos for the television show, "Burns and Allen," and two radio shows, "Stars Over Hollywood" and "When A Girl Marries." In the center is "In recipes use [Carnation], it's double-rich and heat refined!" with a large can of Carnation Milk on the right. At the bottom is the company name and address. The front end page has a color drawing of a large chocolate pie on a table with six family members seated around the table. Below is an introduction, "Family Favorites." Following are recipes for several kinds of pies, including Magic Cream Pie (with variations). At the end is a Memo From Mary Blake promoting The Cook's Handbook which can be obtained by sending in 35¢ in coin. There are color drawings by each recipe.
