Description:
The front cover is dark blue with drawings of vegetables and fruits around a jar of Ivanhoe Mayonnaise. The title is in green lettering with green lines above and below on a darker green band. The back cover has the title and more fruits and vegetables. The title page has "Salad Leaves or Letters to a Daughter in the city . . . being a collection of family salad recipes and menus developed and assembled in the Ivanhoe Kitchens by Harriet Meaker Osborne." There is a Table of Contents. Recipes are arranged by months and begin with a letter from the author to her daughter, Margaret. At the end of each month's recipes is a box with a brief fact about Ivanhoe Mayonnaise. November and December have menu suggestions. At the end are menus for Cold Plate Luncheons or Plate Dinners and lists of Sandwich Meals, Main Dish Salads and One Piece Meals. The last page has Ivanhoe Mayonnaise above a black-and-white drawing of a jar of Ivanhoe Mayonnaise. The center has four pages of black-and-white and color drawings of several of the recipes.
