The front cover is red, white, and blue. There is a drawing of a maid serving Dutch Tea Rusk. The back cover is plain white. Page 2-3 explain what Dutch Tea Rusk is and its nutritional composition. As well as the fact that Miss Elsa Gleye of the Grand Rapids Public Schools contributed many of the interesting recipes included. Each page has a banner between two wavy lines: Hekman's Dutch Tea Rusk -- " the toast supreme. There are color drawing throughout. Many of the recipes are traditional ways to use toast.
