This hardcover has a golden brown textured background. On the front, a large white circle is divided in half, with one side devoted to a black-and-white illustration of a couple carving a turkey. The left side of the circle is divided into several smaller frames with color drawings of food items. The title is in purple above and below the circle. To the bottom of the front, a yellow block with black lettering reads, "Over 5 million copies in print." The back is plain save for a centered "CUTCO"in white and company information in black. The front end page and fly leaf have charts for can sizes and equivalent measurements on a light orange background with black and orange print. The back end page and back fly leaf have a chart for equivalents and substitutions. The orange title page has the title in black on a wood cutting board with a carving knife to the left and a fork across the bottom of the board. Below is author, publishing and copyright information. Following an introduction by Margaret M. Mitchell, Director, Wear-Ever Kitchens, are descriptions of several types of CUTCO cutting and carving utensils with instructions for use, and promotions for a Wear-Ever Fondue Set and Combo Servers. Next is "Meat Is Important" and detailed instructions for the 7 Methods of Cooking Meat (roast, broil, panbroil, pan fry, deep fry, braise and cook in liquid) followed by a buying guide and charts of the various cuts of beef, veal, lamb and pork. There is information on Care of Meat in the Home, time-temperature charts and general instructions for the various methods of cooking meat. Tips on entertaining precede recipes arranged by course: Appetizers, Salads, Entrees, Vegetables, Sauces and Desserts. At the end are recipes for Fondues and Outdoor cooking.
