Little Cookbooks: The Alan and Shirley Brocker Sliker Culinary Collection

Jack Daniel's Old Time Barbecue Cookbook

no preview available

The book cover is black with white lettering and rust end pages. The front dust jacket cover has a photo of the title on a barn with produce in a horse-drawn wagon and a farmer grilling and two leaning against the barn. The back dust jacket cover has a photo of a farmer sitting in a rocker on the lawn holding a glass of Jack Daniel's and a plate of food with his faithful dog sitting next to him. The press name, logo, and a bar code are below that. This is the ninth printing (1998). There are color photos. The book is as much a history of barbecues around the country as it is a cookbook. There are recipes for appetizers, barbecue sauces, beans, breads, casseroles, chicken, beef, coleslaw, corn, desserts, drinks, game, lamb, pies, pie crusts, pork, potatoes, potato salads, salads, seafood, soups and stews, and vegetables. There is a section on cooking techniques.
