The title page indicates the recipes were contributed by carious housekeepers and prominent chefs. There are many pages describing the various stoves and ranges and how to use them. Scattered throughout are recipes. Pages 57-58 have valuable hints such as ways to remove different stains, keep flies, ants, and mosquitos out, and cleaning silverware and mildewed linen. Pages 59-60 have sample menus. Page 62 has postage rates and religious statistics.
