This is the second of three books by Charles Bryant, d. 1799, Beadle of the Court of Guardians for the City of Norwich. One of his peer referred to him as "in most instances, an accurate observer and investigator of botanical subjects." This work adds to the material collected by Hugh Rose, (1717?-92), apothecary of Norwich, author of Elements of Botany, who was collecting the Linnaean names of esculent plants.
