DESCRIPTION/EVALUATION:
Somewhat deceptively titled, as it focuses on science and
mathematics teaching in the K-12 classroom, this book is a collection
of essays and research reports by teachers and teacher educators,
most of whom have ties to the University of Georgia. Topics include
teacher education for math and science instruction, varieties of
learning and instruction styles and their cultural basis, assessment,
and the influence of a multicultural society on student learning.
The book would serve well as an introductory overview, giving the
reader a feel for the variety of related issues.
