Squeak the MouseSqueak the Mouse / Mattioli. -- Paris : Albin Michel, 1984. -- 48 p. : col. ill. ; 30 cm. -- Stories without words, except for the titles, which are in English. -- This French version was distributed in the U.S. by Catalan Communications, with two added labels. "Adults only" has been added to the cover, and inside the front cover is an account of the seizure of the album by U.S. Customs on August 1, 1985. After a trial it was declared not obscene. -- Funny animal and funny horror genres. -- Call no.: PN6767.M37S6713 1984"The Big Game" p. 9-14 -- Summary: The cat catches Squeak the Mouse, but Squeak unzips the cat's fist and runs. Squeak returns to bonk the cat with a hammer, explode him with dynamite, and pelt him with tomatoes. Squeak ducks into a store, and the cat waits for him to come out. First Donald Duck comes out, then Mickey Mouse, then a worm, and then Squeak. The cat grabs Squeak, but discovers it's really a bird with a very sharp beak in a Squeak disguise, and the bird bites the cat's nose. The cat is then dropped out a window, but emerges from the hole he makes in the sidewalk to rip Squeak apart, eat him, and leave a smear of gore and a pile of bones. Part 2: "Blood Feast" p. 15-26 -- Summary: The cat picks up a date and goes to a party. Meanwhile a bird comes upon the remains of Squeak, and reports it to the police. By the time the police get to the scene, the remains are gone. At the party, much dancing and sex is going on, but then people start to die by violence. Before long everybody at the party has been murdered except for the cat, and a skeletal Squeak the Mouse confronts the cat with a butcher knife. The cat dumps a puddle of alcohol on the floor, and lights a match that ignites the alcohol and the mouse. The cat runs. Part 3: "Zombie Night" p. 27-36 -- Summary: The cat goes home and goes to bed, but his apartment is soon invaded by a succession of corpses. All the murdered partiers have come back to life and in their mangled conditions try to kill the cat. The cat fights them off, but then Squeak the Mouse arrives with his butcher knife. The cat catches Squeak in a blender, liquefies him, and pours him down the drain. Part 4: "Magma" p. 37-48 -- Summary: Thinking his troubles are over, the cat enjoys a romp in a pool and bed with three female cats. Before too many pages, a dripping but still recognizable Squeak the Mouse has killed the ladies. The cat runs to the kitchen of the house, rigs a match to strike when the door opens, turns on the gas, jumps out the window and runs. The house explodes behind him. Brushing himself off, the cat walks down the street and sees another mouse. He catches it, and the mouse unzips the cat's fist and runs.

Part 6: "The Torture Never Stops" 8 p. -- Summary: A young elephant who reads horror comics arrives on the beach with his parents, finds the skeleton of the cat, and takes it home. His parents think he has been collecting seashells. Back up north in his bedroom, the elephant glues the skeleton together. The cat is reborn, slaughters the elephant family, and goes looking for Squeak the Mouse. Squeak sees the cat coming and creates a dummy of himself filled with dynamite. The dummy explodes and pulverizes the cat. Another cat then catches Squeak, but Squeak unzips the cat's fist and runs.
