Summary: In 1921, a European expedition in the
Himalayas turns back when the Sherpas sight what they call
"metch kangmi," or the "repugnant snowman." Tobey, a
newsman in London, picks up the story, re-names the
creature the "abominable snowman," and writes a
best-selling article. Soon he is doing research on other
sightings, and in 1922 his newspaper sends him with the
next expedition. High in the mountains the group is hit by
an avalanche, and in the confusion Tobey sees snowmen, and
shoots one. He wakes up in a lamasery, while the expedition
turns back. Among the monks, Tobey witnesses a funeral and
mummification, and sees another mummy that looks like
himself. Indeed the monks tell him that he did live in this
place in an earlier life, and that they had summoned him
back. Later he learns that the monk who died was one he
killed himself when he thought he was shooting an
abominable snowman. The monks have the ability to project
the snowman image to protect their privacy. Tobey stays
with them, and thirty years later we see him projecting the
image of metch kangmi for the deterrence of another group
of Europeans.

in Chicago, in 1931, to clean up the gangsters. Tintin is
kidnapped by Al Capone, but saved by Snowy. A rival gang
drugs him and throws him into Lake Michigan, but he wakes
up. Many of Chicago's criminals are arrested, but Tintin
pursues Bobby Smiles out west, where he and Snowy meet
cowboys and Indians, strike oil, and get in a train wreck,
a prairie fire, and get captured by a lynch mob. Smiles is
captured, but then back in Chicago Snowy is kidnapped, and
rescued, and a capitalist tries to grind both of them into
corned beef, but a strike stops the factory. Tintin is
kidnapped again from a banquet celebrating the victory over
crime, dumped again in Lake Michigan tied to 400-pound
dumbbells, which turn out to be made of wood. 355 suspects
are then arrested, and Chicago's underworld is out of
