Books, 1986). -- Summary: Captain Monastario arrests a man
named Lopez and burns his house, on suspicion. His sister
says she'll make him pay for it. That evening Antonia Lopez
tries to kill Monastario, and is captured instead. Zorro
frees her, but she next tries to kill him because
Monastario has promised her the freedom of her brother.
Monastario views what he is told is Zorro's body lying in a
ravine, then gives Antonia 100 pesos, but refuses to free
her brother. Monastario releases all the other prisoners
except the Lopez siblings, and is soon popular with the
people. With Zorro's help, the brother and sister also
escape and leave California in a small sailboat. -- Call

was busy rescuing a woman destined for a slow, harsh death.
He fought off her attackers, but his flying lizard was
injured during the joust. The saurian was able to get them
safely to a nearby cliff but died upon their landing." --
This segment appears in the NBM album "The Cult of the
Sacred Fire." -- Summary (from European Comics in English
Translation): "The dragon was pregnant, and The Mercenary
cuts open the mother and delivers a newborn dragon, ready
to fly and big enough to carry both of them. Almost. The
baby drops them a little further down and flies away. That
night the woman asks The Mercenary to take her with him and
not back to her husband, but he refuses. He has to protect
his reputation as a mercenary and complete the job.
Unknowingly they've taken refuge in the den of a large
carnivore. After a scare The Mercenary kills it, and uses
its body to build a sailplane to return the woman to her
