Pyramids
Martin Mystery gives a slide show that includes the Pyramids
of Giza and then goes to Belize where he proves an ancient
Egyptian/Mayan connection in his adventure
The Revenge of
Ra. In the first and last stories of the
Nikopol
trilogy by Enki Bilal, the aliens/gods appear in a hovering
pyramid-shaped spaceship. The series of stories by Moebius
that can loosely be called "The Aedena Cycle" includes two
stories with a prominent pyramid, titled in English "Upon a
Star" and "The Gardens of Aedena." Likewise by Moebius,
the story "Deima" shows us pyramids, and is available in
the 1996 version of
Arzach.
Again by Moebius, with Jodorowsky, a couple of pyramids are
assembled into a spaceship in the Incal chapter titled in
English "The Portal of Transfiguration" in Incal 2
(Epic Comics, 1988) or "The Door of the Transfiguration"
(in Heavy Metal (June 1984)). Hergé's fictional
Latin American country, San Theodoros, includes a
pre-Colombian pyramid as a tourist attraction in the album
Tintin and the
Picaros. The cube that sets off the fever in the
Schuiten and Peeters story
Fever in
Urbicand appears from a distance to be a pyramid
(see chapter 5). During construction in Egypt, Astérix and
Obelix get themselves locked in a pyramid and have to be
rescued by Dogmatix (that's in
Asterix and
Cleopatra).
