cooperation of the National Society for Crippled Children
and Adults, an athletic young man with a little brother in
a wheelchair is wounded in battle. While in the hospital he
realises the bad effect of being pitied. He asks the
Justice Society to help prove that partially disabled
people are not helpless. The Society divides up: "They have
to make six individuals overcome their handicaps, as well
as overcome six crimes." The story ends with a pledge, and
a list of "great people who made their mark in spite of
physical handicaps:" Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Helen
