Contact /
Schultheiss ;
translated and edited from the original German, Der
Kontakt, by Bernd Metz. -- New York : Catalan
Communications, 1989. -- 48 p. : col. ill. ; 28 cm. --

Theorem ; 3) -- Science fiction genre. -- Call

Summary: In the insane asylum, Paul tells Shalby that
he's a thermodynamic projection of Amselstein. Shalby
returns to his harbor hideout to study the physics notes,
and Sarah comes in beaten up, but won't say who did it. The
American agents follow her when she leaves, hoping to find
Amselstein. Indeed, Shelby visits her at her job, and just
as the agents close in he kills the pimp who beat Sarah.
Both the agents and the pimp's friends give chase. Soon
Sarah and Shalby are in a speedboat being chased across the
thin ice of the harbor. A police boat and the agents' boat
are in pursuit, and soon a police helicopter is involved as
well. The tugboat appears, and Shalby climbs aboard. The
tug rams the police boat, and the agents shoot down the
helicopter. Shalby breaks into the cabin of the mystery
tugboat and finds the same man who helped him escape the
penitentiary in Utah. The tug leads Shalby to a giant
submarine hidden under the harbor. Inside, the crew is long
dead, but Shalby finds a portal leading directly to
Amselstein's workshop in Labrador. This confirms the last
entry in the physics notebook about Bell's Theorem, that
"there are continuities between various points in space and
time, but this is an individual experience and it can't be
documented." He lays down in the position in which he found
Amselstein's corpse months earlier.
