Summary: Aurelys, teleporting with Altor and Kran,
revives the crystals of an underwater civilization of
mer-people and a city of winged fairies. Meanwhile the
Middle Kingdom armies have captured several crystals and
locked them in their castle. The next teleportation takes
the three young persons into the laboratory complex of a
group of wizards called the Gamner. Trolls have tried to
steal their crystal and failed, but it is deactivated.
Aurelys fixes it, and the wizards decide to invade the
castle and attack the Dark Star. They leave Aurelys, Altor
and Kran behind with Alpidus, whom the wizards have
imprisoned as punishment because his incompetence brought
the Dark Star to their world in the first place. A relative
of Alpidus from the galactic civilization comes to him in a
dream with some suggestions. When they awake, Aurelys
teleports Altor, Kran, and Alpidus with her to the castle.
Alpidus finds Lorcan, and they all meet in the chamber of
stolen crystals. Aurelys reenergizes them all, including
the Great Crystal, and Apidus has the last bit of
information that allows them to defeat the Dark Star.
Aurelys merges with the Great Crystal, for her secret is
that she is the soul of the crystal that refused to be
stolen. New Terra's energy burns so brightly that the
planet is immediately granted membership in the galactic
confederation.
