Jerry Yang's Sumo Information Page

Ah, sumo wrestling. You may think of it as the dignified national sport of Japan, or you may think of it as humongous guys colliding while wearing strange bathing suits. Either way this is interesting stuff, especially the list of frequently asked questions, which reveals that suspicion of fixing matches in Japan exists (just like our pro "wrestling"). To guard against it, "there is a rule that wrestlers from the same heya (stable) do not wrestle each other." You'll definitely also want to view the photos of these amazingly large gentlemen, such as yokozuna (grand champion) Akebono; he looks plenty mean in some of these shots. And Jerry Yang has added movies, too! Also includes tournament results and amusing commentary: "Musoyama... fights like an old lady."
