The NandoNet Hockey Server
http://www2.nando.net/SportServer/hockey
In contrast to ESPNet, NandO's Hockey Server is a great place for fans to follow their favorite team. Though lacking the feature stories found on the former, NandO provides extensive profiles for each club (grouped by division) as well as daily game summaries and an upcoming schedule, an archive of past month's action, and a list of player transactions. NHL.Com
http://www.nhl.com
The NHL's official site is a good place to start for anyone interested in the professional version of Canada's national pastime. Unfortunately, the site doesn't contain an archive of boxscores and/or recaps of all games. However, extensive boxes and recaps are provided for the latest games. Updated statistics are available on a wide variety of team and individual
variables, and information is available on the various teams. But what really makes this site interesting are the "Cool Shots" section (8 multimedia highlights from the previous week's play--archived back to the beginning of the season), and "Feature Files," a potpourri of information including weekly reviews, instruction, and special features highlighted by "A Day in the Life of the National Hockey League," a photo essay of the NHL on March 23, 1996.

The Science of Hockey
http://netra.exploratorium.edu/hockey/
Let the players and coaches of the San Jose Sharks and the innovators at San Francisco's Exploratorium take you inside The Science of Hockey. This site applies physics and chemistry to explain scientific quandaries like the difference between "fast" and "slow" ice, and answer questions like "How much energy is generated by a mid-ice collision?" Be it The Ice, Skating, Making Saves, or Shooting the Puck, the experts here have investigated it all. Annotation from Excite web site review.
