Due to major system maintenance, you will not be able to request items through MeLCat beginning on November 18, 2015. Renewals for MeLCat items will still be possible until December 2, 2015. The system should be available for requesting again in early December. If you are MSU faculty, student or staff, please try Uborrow. Our community borrowers will not have access to interlibrary loan through MSU during that time. For more information, please read this MeLCat Server Migration FAQ. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Gull Lake Library is located in a comfortable, attractive space near the work areas of its users. The library houses group and individual study spaces, printing services and a fax machine. The Gull Lake branch is wireless and Ethernet compatible and has MSU microlab and KBSnet computers available for use by library users. There is also a video conference room with a polycom video system which is available for use by patrons located at KBS.
The library assistant staffs Gull Lake weekdays, providing personal assistance to the KBS community and aiding the main library and its patrons with remote service to the Gull Lake collection. This arrangement not only helps to serve the needs of both locations and their patrons, but also provides a smooth flow of information and reference assistance between the two libraries.
The library has a small, working collection of current reference materials and basic biological references. MSU library's online catalog is available on all computers in the library and throughout the KBS complex. Literature searches can be performed in a wide variety of subjects using the databases available on the catalog and the ERL database server. The most commonly used databases are ISI Web of Science, Biological Abstracts, Agricola and Science Citation Index.
