The crushing of the Endurance
View of the Endurance ship used by Sir Ernest Shackleton in his 1914 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. The ship can be seen tilted to the left under the pressure of the surrounding ice as Shackleton examines the effect of the ice pressure.
