James Roosevelt Sr., the great grandfather of Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States. James Roosevelt Sr. is noted for having brought VanCourtland Park, one of the country's earliest golf courses, to the United States. He is also credited with bringing the two Roosevelt families together.
