Lifebuoy Health Soap

Advertisement for Lifebuoy Health Soap includes a photograph of “Jo Ann Robinson of Kansas City.” She wears a riding outfit with cloche hat and riding boots. She also appears in small comic strip “Society Girl Warns Those Who Seek Romance: Protect Your Personal Daintiness”. In the first panel, Miss Robinson, wearing an evening gown, chats with tuxedo-wearing men. The caption warns women to protect their “personal daintiness at all times.” In the second panel she has focused her attention on one man while couples talk in the background. The caption advises that Lifebuoy is superior to other soaps at stopping body odor. The third panel shows Miss Robinson in her riding attire on a horse; an older man in a turtleneck sweater and sports coat holds the bridle. The caption says that Lifebuoy is “invaluable in restoring my freshness and pepping me up.” The final panel has in her bedroom wearing lingerie. The caption says that Lifebuoy has provided her with “the most luxurious bath imaginable.” Finally there is an image of a box of Lifebuoy Soap.
