Sets air record : Norman B. Doerr
Flight instructor Norman B. Doerr holds the propeller of his “midget monoplane.” He set a solo refueling endurance record for light airplanes on July 5, 1937 from Sky Harbor Airport, near Northbrook, Illinois. Doerr was airborne for 24 hours, 2 minutes. He wears a one-piece flight suit, a leather flying helmet, and goggles.
