The Russian ballet

The cartoon comments on the series of overthrowing of Russian and Soviet governments. On a "History of the Russian Revolution" stage strewn with skulls, dancers kick the performers in front of each other. A man wearing a uniform and ermine cape labeled "Czarist Government" is kicked off stage by a man in peasant garb marked "Kerehsky Gov't." He, in turn, is kicked by a goateed prince nez wearing man in a double breasted military frock coat labeled "Lenin-Trotzky Regime." At his feet is a wreath marked "Lenin." This man is being kicked by a mustachioed man in peasant garb wearing a fez-like cap marked "Stalin Govt." Coming out of the right side of the stage is a booted foot with a question mark. In the orchestra pit Death plays "The Dance of Death" on a cello.
