Four scenes from the news depict a variety of topics. Mr. Dry waters a sturdy and bountiful grape vine (bumper grape crop). A man in sport clothes (sport industry) holds various sports equipment, baseball bat, catcher's mask, boxing gloves, and a football. He is surrounded by everal bags of money and coins (recepits, gate). The G.O.P. elephant raising his foot about to squash Chicago Mayor Bill Thompson who lies on the ground holding a sign that reads: "presidential aspirations." A barefoot, mustachioed, man wearing a sombrero fires a machine gun at other men, a large ammunition box (ballot box) next to him. The gunner declares: "Looks as if we'll carry this precinct!"
