The only thing left afloat, and that may drift away
In the middle of a sea (sea of politics), the Democratic donkey holds on to a mast (wreck of Democratic issues) and watches a floating barrel (wet issue - may be endorsed by G.O.P. in 1932), while asking: "I wonder if it would hold me up?" The U.S. Capitol can be seen in the far background.
