There goes his last spare

This cartoon comments on the lack of issues the Democratic Party has in the election of 1928. The Democratic donkey almost looses control of his roadster as its right rear tire labeled "Farm Issue" has a blow out. Lashed to the car's trunk are other blown tires marked "Tariff Issue," "League Issue," "Economy Issue," and "Third Term Issue" with a nail labeled "Cal" stuck in it. Next to the car is a directional sign reading "Washington 1928." In the background is the U.S. Capitol.
