A difficult patient
This cartoon comments on drastic extremes in the weather. In the "Violent War" "Old Nurse Weather Man," decked out in a dark nurse's uniform and white apron, uses tongs to carry a dripping block of ice marked "Recent Chilly Weather," while complaining: "If he isn't kickin about the cold, it's the heat that worries him--I haven't heard a kind word from him in Ye-e-ears!" Behind her in a hospital bed, a male "Sufferin' Public" dressed in pajamas leaps from the bed, yelling "Wow!" trying to get away from a steaming hot water bottle labeled "Present Hot Weather."
