The old tenant moves out

In this cartoon by Carey Orr, an old man, "the old year," walks quickly away from the earth, which is filled with "trouble," "bootleg problems," "crime," "dry bigotry," and "farm troubles." Uncle Sam hands a broom or mop to an infant, "1927" (the new year), and asks him to clean up the mess that the "old year" left.
