Our channel swimmers

Cartoon by Carey Orr includes three cells. In the first image an elephant, the "G.O.P" floats calmly on the waves, "rising tide of American prosperity," through "political channels" while a donkey representing the Democratic Party struggles to swim in the background. In the second image a man, the "drys," swims through rough waters of "opposition to dry tyranny" while trying to get "to bone dry land." In the last image, a World Court Senator scrambles back toward the U.S.A. to escape sharks, "political defeat."
