Peculiar patriotism

A scene from 1914 depicts a soldier (the French) charging towards battle, then a scene from 1925 where a man (the French) is seen running away with a bag of money and leaving notes flying around (debt, taxes, and other financial troubles). A note in each scene reads "1914 willing to sacrifice their lives to save France," "1925 but not their money."
