A man (innocent citizen) runs away from two men (criminal and crooked lawyer) hidding behind a stack of books (law, writ of error, technicalities, continuances habeas corpus, reprieve, pardon power, change of venue, and appeals). One of the men (criminal) is holding two guns and firing at the "innocent citizen."
