The Democratic donkey rings the doorbell of Democratic candidate William G. McAdoo while carrying a bouquet of flowers (McAdoo popularity). When the donkey sees the silhouette of McAdoo through the door, he flees mistaking McAdoo's night cap for a Ku Klux Klan hood.
